The Bell-Class courier is a small vessel suited to use by a small party of adventurers. I designed it to be a 2300AD version of Traveller's Type 'S' Scout, the typical ship granted to the players in character generation in that game.
Vessels in the class are named for pioneers in the communications field, hence the Alexander Graham Bell, the Samuel F.B. Morse, the Marconi, the John Logie-Baird, the Edison and so on. In 2304, there are 35 vessels of this class in active service in human space, most of which (31) are privately owned.
The Alexander Graham Bell itself is missing ; Its owner, Bruce Dawn Sky, a fugitive Australian wanted for numerous crimes, is rumoured to plunged the vessel into Sol. Numerous sightings of the ship have been reported along the American Arm, however.
